Will it make my face greasy?
It goes on rich and sinks in within a few minutes. Start with a pea-size amount for your whole face. If it feels heavy, use less, or apply it at night. Many customers with oily skin use it every day.
Will it clog my pores or break me out?
Tallow rates 1 out of 5 on the comedogenic (pore-clogging) scale, which is very low. If your skin is very acne-prone, start with a thin layer every other night for the first week.
Does it smell like beef?
No. The tallow is rendered at low heat and strained until it has no smell. The scented balm smells lightly green and woody from a touch of essential oils, and it fades within minutes. The No Essential Oils balm smells like honey.
Why is it hard in the jar?
It's a balm with no added water, so it firms up when it's cool. Rub a little between your fingertips for a few seconds and it melts. Putting it on slightly damp skin after a shower helps too.
Scented or No Essential Oils: which one should I get?
They're the same balm. The scented one has a touch of sandalwood, neroli, pine and rose essential oils (under 1%). The No Essential Oils balm has nothing added, so pick it for babies, very sensitive or reactive skin, rosacea, or if essential oils bother you.

How long does a jar last, and when does it expire?
Most customers say a jar lasts a month or more with daily use on the face and neck. Once opened, use it within 12 months.
When will I see a difference?
Most people feel softer, calmer skin in the first few days. Lines and dark spots take longer: usually 2 to 4 weeks to see, and they keep improving for months.
Can I use it with retinol, Botox or a prescription?
Yes. It's a simple moisturizer and works alongside other treatments. Many customers use it to calm skin dried out by retinol.

Does it smell like onions?
No. The onion hydrosol is fermented and cold-extracted, which takes the onion smell out. It smells fresh and spa-like.
What's in it?
Shampoo: 15% onion hydrosol, rosemary oil, peppermint oil, nettle extract, aloe vera juice, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, biotin, cocamidopropyl betaine, glycerin.
Conditioner: onion hydrosol, castor oil, argan oil, pumpkin seed oil, lavender oil, biotin, panthenol (provitamin B5), aloe vera juice.
No sulfates, parabens or silicones.
Do I need both?
The shampoo cleans your scalp without sulfates. The conditioner adds castor, argan and pumpkin seed oils to soften your hair. They're made to work together, and the duo costs $60 instead of $70 for both separately.
When will I notice a difference?
Many customers tell us they see less hair in the shower drain within the first few weeks. Give it at least a month of regular washing.
