It's a firm balm, not a whipped cream, because there's no added water. Warm a pea-size bit between your fingertips for a few seconds and it melts into a silky oil that sinks in within minutes.
The scent is light, green and woody, from a touch of sandalwood, neroli, pine and rose essential oils (under 1%). It fades fast. The tallow itself has no beef smell. Prefer no essential oils? Try our No Essential Oils balm. It smells like honey.

1. Scoop a pea-size amount. 2. Warm it between your fingertips until it melts. 3. Press it into clean, slightly damp skin, morning, night or both.

Will it make my face greasy?
It goes on rich and sinks in within a few minutes. Start with a pea-size amount for your whole face. If it feels heavy, use less, or apply it at night. Many customers with oily skin use it every day.
Will it clog my pores or break me out?
Tallow rates 1 out of 5 on the comedogenic (pore-clogging) scale, which is very low. Many customers with oily or breakout-prone skin use it daily. If your skin is very acne-prone, start with a thin layer every other night for the first week.
Does it smell like beef?
No. The tallow is rendered and strained until it has no smell. The scented balm smells lightly green and woody from a touch of essential oils, and it fades within minutes. Prefer no essential oils? Get the No Essential Oils balm. It smells like honey.
Why is it hard in the jar?
It's a balm with no added water, so it firms up when it's cool. Rub a little between your fingertips for a few seconds and it melts. Putting it on slightly damp skin after a shower helps too.
Is it safe for sensitive skin, eczema or kids?
It's made for sensitive skin, and many parents and grandparents use it on their kids. For babies, very reactive skin or anyone sensitive to essential oils, choose the No Essential Oils balm. Test a small spot first.
How long does a jar last?
